DESCRIPTION
Pemgem (Pemetrexed) injection is a prescription drug used to treat Ovarian cancer, Small cell lung cancer, Cervical cancer. It inhibits the growth of DNA and RNA in cancer cells and prevents it from growing and multiplying.

Dosage :
Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma (Adult Dosage) :
500 mg/m2 IV over 10 minutes on day 1 of each 21 day cycle along with cisplatin
Cisplatin 75 mg/m2 infused over 2 hours beginning approximately 30 minutes after the end of the pemetrexed administration. Patients should receive hydration consistent with local practice prior to and/or after receiving cisplatin.
SIDE EFFECTS
Most common side effects are Nausea, Vomiting, Pharyngitis, Loss of appetite, Stomatitis (Inflammation of the mouth), Hair loss, Reduced blood platelets, Rash, Fatigue, Anemia, Diarrhoea, Decreased white blood cell count (neutrophils), Neuropathy.
